“I think you’re going crazy, too,” Phoebe remarked. “What are you trying to achieve here? You’re pregnant and need to take extra care. How could you go up against Amoura on your own?”

Eileen paused to organize her thoughts and then replied, “Don’t worry. I was only there to check things out. Regardless of who she has locked up, I’m confident she’s keeping it a secret from Javier, so I won’t have to go against her directly.”

Phoebe breathed a sigh of relief. “As long as you know what you’re doing. If something happens to you, Bryan would kill me.”

“He wouldn’t.” Eileen chuckled. “Anyway, why did you call me? Do you have something you want to tell me?”

“Jacob’s assistant contacted Barry about the sanatorium project contract. They’ve set up a meeting for tomorrow at noon in a restaurant. Barry was asked to bring the finalized contract for signing. It looks like he might bring Milford along. Would you like to attend and see him?” Phoebe said.

Eileen knew Phoebe was talking about letting her see Milford in secret.

Though it was unnecessary, she couldn’t deny that she really wanted to see Milford.

“If you want to come, I’ll make sure everything is set up. I guarantee Milford won’t suspect a thing. You’ll come and go unnoticed,” Phoebe said confidently.

“Alright. Send me the address later,” Eileen responded.

As Eileen ended the call, her car snaked down the mountain road. When she approached the junction that led to the suburban highway, she slowed down and noticed something.

There was only one road leading up the mountain.

Besides, she hadn’t seen any buildings except for that small villa.

She had used a drone to survey the area a few days ago. The villa, nestled among lush greenery, stood alone there. The point was… This road only led to that villa.

Eileen furrowed her brow. After pondering for a moment, she resumed driving and merged back into the traffic. She had intended to call Raymond to check on Javier’s whereabouts. However, something felt off, so she reconsidered.

In the evening, she shared Phoebe’s plan for her to see Milford with Bryan and casually asked, “Will you go?”

“I can go with you,” Bryan replied. “I don’t have any important meetings after my morning one tomorrow. I’ll pick you up, and we can head home together in the afternoon.”

He was clearly trying to please her. It was a rare chance for her to give him such an opportunity, and he didn’t want to miss it.
