Chapter 1378
Chapter 1378:
The villa was not small. The white curtains were always drawn, but every now and then, it was possible to see someone behind them.
Judging by the height of the person, it seemed to be a man.
Eileen thought it was strange. She had been watching the villa all morning, but the man inside hadn’t left the second-floor room on the east side of the villa once. He had woken up and hadn’t stepped foot outside his room since.
As lunchtime approached, a sleek car pulled up to the black iron gates of the villa.
Eileen quickly adjusted her binoculars, watching as Amoura stepped out of the car, unlocked the gate, and drove onto the property. Eileen froze, her mind reeling.
The gate had been locked from the outside?
She had assumed it was just closed! She quickly refocused her binoculars, her gaze glued to Amoura.noveldrama
As Amoura exited the car, two men in suits emerged from a small outbuilding. They took her keys and escorted her to the villa’s front door, holding it open for her.
“What the hell is going on here?” Eileen muttered under her breath, zooming in on the shadowy figure in the second-floor window.
Eileen couldn’t make out what they were saying, but she could see Amoura approach the man, who seemed to want to keep his distance.
Even from her hidden vantage point, Eileen could sense the tension in the room. Amoura, however, seemed oblivious to it. She spread out the lunch she had brought with her on a small table by the window and began to eat, alone.

After finishing her meal, Amoura even took a nap.
Eileen was starting to doze off herself when Amoura’s phone rang, abruptly ending her nap. Amoura had to leave.
The moment Amoura was gone, the man in the room swept the lunch off the table, sending the food and dishes crashing to the floor.
Amoura came downstairs, gave some instructions to the men in suits, and then drove away.
One of the men went inside, heading straight for the second-floor room. He cleaned up the mess and left without a word.
Satisfied that she had seen enough, Eileen packed up her things and headed back to her car, which she had parked a short distance away.
Eileen then made her way home. Halfway there, her phone buzzed with a call from Phoebe. Before Phoebe could even get a word in, Eileen told her about what she had seen today.
“Amoura seems to be forcibly keeping a young lover there,” she added.
Phoebe was stunned, her voice laced with disbelief. “Seriously? That old woman? With all that plastic surgery, she looks like a melted Barbie doll. What a creep! She’s probably at least seventy, trying to pass herself off as about fifty?”
Eileen shook her head, perplexed. “I have no idea. But who would she be keeping locked up in that villa? Besides a lover… Maybe her son?”
Eileen thought the likelihood of that was quite low. The idea of Amoura locking up her own son was more astounding than the idea of her keeping a lover there. Had Amoura gone mad?
