Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 1067

Chapter 1067:

The log cabin was spacious enough to provide temporary rest and shelter from rain and wind for the herdsmen. However, in recent years, herdsmen had settled into designated pasture areas, and the log cabin saw very little use. Consequently, the once-functional tables and chairs were now covered in a thick layer of dust.

As Eileen pushed open the door, sunlight poured in, mingling with the musty smell of dust that made her wrinkle her nose.

The walls were adorned with photographs chronicling the history of VQ Group and its successes, spanning nearly ten generations.

The last photo was of Dottie. Her picture had been ripped apart. It was evident that the damage was recent. Frowning, Eileen removed the frame. Just as she was about to lay the torn photo flat, she heard footsteps approaching from behind her.

She lifted her eyes and saw a figure moving slowly across the floor. The man was wearing a hat and holding a stick raised high in his hand…

Suddenly, a wave of dizziness hit Eileen, and she fell to the floor.

In her dazed state, she caught a glimpse of a pair of shoes. She faintly noticed the hem of black suit pants brushing against the military shoes, but before she could make sense of it, she lost consciousness. It was hard to distinguish whether it was a real sight or merely a figment of her imagination.

Eileen had been missing for two days now. Bryan had ensured that all exits from Alverton were blocked.

The expansive plain was crisscrossed with roads, and sealing them all required immense manpower and resources. The local police had mobilized everyone they had and even brought in a large number of people from Linder Land to help.

It felt like even a fly wouldn’t be able to escape. But despite all the effort, finding a single person in such a vast area was still incredibly difficult.

Inside the grand Vazquez Mansion, a heavy silence hung over everyone.

Bryan’s chin was covered in stubble, and his eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep. He fixed his gaze on the last known location of Eileen’s phone.

Even with the tracking system active, the vastness of the plain was a challenge. He had scoured a ten-mile radius, but the tracking signal was nowhere to be found. This meant that Eileen had been taken somewhere the system couldn’t detect.

“Mr. Dawson, Mr. Aston has arrived,” Raymond announced as he entered the room.

Bryan lifted his gaze slightly and looked at Keith, who had entered the room in a rush.

“How could Eileen go missing? Weren’t you supposed to have returned to Onalande yesterday?” Keith asked.noveldrama

“The last person she was seen with was you,” Bryan said. His piercing eyes were filled with suspicion.

Keith responded with noticeable anxiety. “I went with her to the Vazquez family’s tomb that day, and then I went back to the office. Shortly after, something urgent came up, and I had to take a sudden business trip to Linder Land. I only heard about her disappearance when I got back. I left before she did, and she then visited the herdsmen’s log cabin.”

Bryan had verified Keith’s whereabouts, and they matched his account perfectly.
