Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1868

Jane marched right up and slapped her, hard. In all these years, no one had ever dared say she was disgusting-until now.

Even when those big-name heirs from the States showed up and threw insults at her, Jane never took it lying down. So why would she put up with this random girl who came out of nowhere?

"I think you're just " Jane started, but Fiona stepped in and cut her off. She shook her head at Jane, then looked steadily at the girl standing beside her.

"You say you didn't rig the votes? And you want me to prove it if I think you did?" Fiona asked, calm as ever.

The girl was still in shock from Jane's slap, and Fiona's words only made her more confused. She nodded automatically.

"Alright. I'll show you the proof," Fiona said, her face unreadable.

She hooked her laptop up to the projector, casting everyone's vote records onto the board. Most people's votes were growing at a normal, steady rate. Jane's numbers were a little higher, but nothing wild.

But then, after midnight last night, the votes for this girl's design exploded. She shot straight into the top three, her votes climbing at a ridiculous speed.

By seven in the morning, she'd passed the first place contender by more than nine hundred votes. Only then did things finally slow down.

The whole room stared, stunned. Even the girl looked like she couldn't believe her eyes.

But she really hadn't done anything wrong!

"So, do you still have something to say?"

eyes a leaned back in her chair,

eyes on the girl. "You can read these numbers, right? It's obvious whether I'm making things up or not."

The girl, who'd come in ready to pick a fight with Fiona, suddenly looked lost. Her

face went pale and she took a couple steps back, totally thrown.

"It's not like that, I swear! I didn't cheat. I don't even know how this happened. I did everything you said, Fiona Why is this happening? Her voice shook, panic rising as she glanced around the room.

But everyone was staring at her with cold, judgmental eyes. She was desperate, but nothing she said could make them believe her.

Someone scoffed, “So what if you cheated? did, too, and Fiona caught me. I owned up to it. But you had to push for proof. Well, here it is. And now you're acting all innocent? Who are you trying to fool?"

"Yeah, you brought this on yourself," another voice added. "We gave you a chance to save face, and you threw it away. Who else is there to blame?"

The whole room seemed to turn on her, their words sharp and mocking. The girl finally broke down and started to cry.

"I didn't cheat! I swear I didn't! I have no idea how this happened!" Her protests sounded weak-even to herself. No one was buying it.

Fiona studied her for a moment, then spoke quietly, "I believe you."

Those three words hit the girl like a lifeline. She looked up, eyes wide with hope. "Really? You really believe me?"

Fiona nodded. "Of course. Because the person who rigged the votes for you wasn't you—it was someone else."

Her words sent a shockwave through the room.noveldrama
