Chapter 1867
Someone in the crowd suddenly blurted something out, and just like that, every pair of eyes landed on the girl who'd spoken.
Because the online voting was totally transparent, everyone could see the numbers ticking up in real time. Out of all the contestants, this girl's votes were skyrocketing the fastest. She was obviously the top contender, and most people figured she'd be the one to finally beat Jane. No one expected her to get accused of vote-rigging.
Fiona didn't even look at her. Instead, she just motioned for Jane to keep reading out the results.
"I told you, Fiona's not as nice as she seems. But you still trust her," the girl's desk mate whispered, rolling her eyes.
She'd always been tight with Amy, and whenever there was a chance to go after Fiona, she was first in line.
"You worked so hard and did everything by the book, but now they're calling you a cheater. That sucks. But honestly, don't take it to heart. The final say is theirs, and even if you wanted to make a scene, what would it change? They're not scared of you at all."noveldrama
"Right? Just two words 'vote-rigging' and all your hard work goes down the drain. Yet you keep acting like Fiona's some kind of hero. I can't decide if I should feel bad for you or call you clueless."
The comments around her built up, each one harsher than the last. The girl's anger only grew, her glare locked on Fiona and Jane at the front of the room. All this talk about Fiona's self-defense classes-wasn't it just another way to make Jane look good?
They didn't need Fiona to teach them self-defense anyway. If they wanted to learn, they could just hire a private coach. Who did Fiona think she was?
The more she stewed over it, the more suffocated she felt. Finally, she decided she'd had enough. If Fiona wanted to play games, then she'd call her out right here, in front of everyone. She'd actually started to believe Fiona had changed, but clearly, she was still the same as ever.
"Hold on! I have something to say about Fiona! the girl suddenly shot up, pointing straight at Fiona, who sat at the computer in front of the projector. Her voice rang out clear and fierce. "I have never rigged the votes for my design, and have never cheated. This might just be a class contest, but I won't let myself be framed for something I didn't do!"
She sounded so righteous that you'd almost want to clap for her.
Jane hesitated at the podium but still chose to trust Fiona. If Fiona said the voting was suspicious, then there had to be something wrong with the results.
But when Fiona didn't react at all, the girl got more and more agitated. She'd gone out of her way to defend herself why wasn't Fiona even a little upset? Especially when she knew she hadn't cheated!
"Fiona, why won't you say anything? Are you scared, or what?"
She strode right over to Fiona, clearly ready to argue face-to-face.
"What's your problem? Can't you talk like a normal person? Why do you have to make it so dramatic?" Jane stepped down from the podium, quicklygetting between them. know Fiona better than you do. You get caught cheating, and now you want to blame her? Seriously, are you okay?"
Getting angry was one thing, but this was just ridiculous.
Jane was so annoyed she could barely stand it.
"I'll say it again I didn't rig the votes, and I didn't send any links to anyone. You're accusing me without any proof. If you don't want to teach us self-defense, then just say it. Stop acting all righteous-it's honestly exhausting."
What do you think?
