Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now

Chapter 782

Chapter 782:

Yet, she was too exhausted to argue.

She understood arguing would be useless.

“Just drive.” Hadley withdrew her hand, her tone void of emotion. “I’m exhausted. I just want to get home.”

Eric promptly responded, “Alright.”noveldrama

As they drove off, Hadley stared silently out the window, resolved that this would be the last time she would ask anything of him.

They reached Silver Villas.

The housekeeper was on her way out. “Mr. Flynn, Miss Pearson, dinner is served. It’s a good time for you both to eat.”

“Got it.”

Eric acknowledged her with a nod. “Thank you, you can go home now.”

“Very well, Mr. Flynn.” With a nod, the housekeeper left.

Hadley was already ascending the stairs towards her room.

Eric watched her for a moment before heading into the kitchen. He grabbed the plates to set the table, hoping Hadley would join him soon. However, after some time passed, Hadley still did not appear.

Feeling uneasy, Eric massaged his temples before deciding to check upstairs. Entering the bedroom, he noticed the sound of the shower. Was Hadley in there?

He waited by the dressing table.

Eventually, the bathroom door swung open.

Hadley emerged, and Eric quickly went to her. “Dinner’s ready.”

“No.” Hadley dismissed him without a glance. “I’m not hungry. I don’t want to.” She moved to the bed, drew the covers aside, and got in.

Eric knew skipping meals wasn’t good for her. He sat down at the edge of the bed, concerned.

Observing her pale face, he coaxed softly, “You really shouldn’t sleep without eating. Try to have a little, please?”

Hadley looked his way but remained adamant. “No, thank you. I often skipped dinner before…”

“Things have changed since then.”

Eric tried to reason with her, his expression lined with concern.

“You might have been on your own before, but now I’m here with you. Remember, you fainted recently. What did the doctor say? You need to regain your strength.”

His worry deepened as he continued.

Determined not to let her skip the meal, Eric gently scooped her up from the bed.

“Eric!” Hadley lost her temper. “I already told you I’m not hungry! Can’t you listen? Missing one meal isn’t going to kill me!”

“Tsk.”

Hearing this, Eric clicked his tongue in disapproval. “How can you just skip meals like this?”

He carried her effortlessly. “Let’s go downstairs. You need to eat something.”
