Chapter 885
Sasha stared at Sherry, stunned. Gavin was only now mentioning the issue of paying Sherry. It was obvious that he hadn't given her a dime before.
"There's a lot to consider if I were to return to your company," Sherry said.
At that, Gavin couldn't hold back his frustration. "What's there to consider?"
Sherry began counting off the points on her fingers. "The potential for growth at your company, the size of the operation, benefits, perks-stuff like that."
Gavin hesitated at her words. "Given what we've been through, do you really need to be so formal about it?"
Confused, Sherry shot back, "Isn't it over between us? Honestly, Gavin, if I were you, I'd be focused on winning Yvette back."
Gavin was baffled. "Why?"
Sherry smiled at him. "Because there's no point in wasting your time on someone like me. If you wait too long before going to Yvette, I'm afraid she'll end up feeling the same way I do realizing she's just fine once she's moved on.noveldrama
"She might even look back and think all the time spent on you was wasted. And by then, it'll be too late to fix anything."
Gavin studied Sherry's face, searching for any hint of a lie. When he didn't find one, a sense of unease began to settle in his chest.
That was when Sasha spoke up. "Wasn't it the same with Steven and Annalise? Steven always thought Annalise loved him, even after all those years of marriage. It never crossed his mind that she might walk away.
"Up until now, Annalise had no regrets. If you keep holding on to Sherry, I doubt your story will play out differently than Steven's."
Sherry chimed in, "At least Steven had Jessica to turn to in the end. But Gavin? If he doesn't get it right this time, he might end up with no one."
By now, Gavin had finally figured out what Sherry was getting at. It was clear she had no intention of ever trying to make things work between them again. He met her gaze.
"You should think carefully about this. If I walk away now, I'll never be back. And if you change your mind later, don't expect me to give you a second chance." Sherry chuckled. "I know."
Gavin stood still for a long while. When it became clear Sherry wasn't going to budge, he stormed off, anger boiling inside him.
Zane had been extremely busy with work lately. He was going through some documents in his office when he was pulled away for a meeting.
My comic was nearly done. I had already finished several chapters, so I would be able to update it daily once the time came. The other comic was working on was still a work in progress, though the workload had definitely eased up.
I stretched myself out on the couch, staring at the ceiling.
As for the amusement park project, Sasha let me know she'd met with her friends. We'd secured a location, and
now, it was just a matter of
waiting for the investment tomove things forward with construction.
All that remained for me was to build the park's reputation and spread the word.
This thought prompted me to contact an animation studio.
After I laid out my vision, they seemed to hesitate. "Are you sure about this? The type of animation you're describing isn't exactly hard to pull off."
"I get it," I replied.
I understood their point. These days, audiences would expect a lot from an animated series. It wasn't every day that they encountered someone like me, looking for a simple story with plain, cute characters.
I continued, "That's the real challenge-keeping it simple but doing it right. I've got
the script ready. If you're interested, I can send it over."
What do you think?
