The Reclaimed Rose (Annalise and Steven)

When Steven came by, Jessica thought it was Yelena again. She forced a smile

but asked, frustrated, "Why are you here again?"

"Again?" When Steven heard that, he narrowed his gaze and asked, "Did somebody visit earlier?"

"It was Yelena," said Jessica, giving way for Steven to enter the house. She was so heavily pregnant that she had to support her back with her hand.

"She said she wants to win Zane over, and she asked for my advice."

After saying that, Jessica realized she had come off a little cold toward Steven. Immediately, she asked gently, "What brings you here?"

Steven replied, "I want to ask you something about kids."

"Kids? I know a lot about children," Jessica said as she gently caressed her belly.

She took Steven by the arm and gestured for him to sit. Then, she said, "But before that, why don't you have a listen? Our baby has a heartbeat now."

Even though Steven no longer had feelings for Jessica, he was still very fond of the baby-after all, it was his baby.

Steven gently leaned against Jessica's belly.

While taking advantage of the situation, Jessica said longingly, "When I first got pregnant, I was looking forward to the birth of our baby. I was hoping that we could live together as a happy family of four."

Then, Jessica began to choke up. She continued, "But who would've expected things to turn out this way? You stopped seeing me, too. Even when the baby misses you, I dare not call you."

However, Steven knew Jessica was lying, and he retorted, "How is it possible for the baby to miss someone?"

"Of course it is!" Jessica exclaimed.

She stared at Steven and said,

suddenly miss you for no reason. I'm guessing the baby is controlling my thoughts."

Then, Jessica's gaze softened. She said gently to the baby, "Right? You miss Daddy, don't you?"

She then pretended to be the baby and replied firmly, "Yes!"

Initially, Steven hated Jessica and his mother. But now that he heard Jessica's words, he suddenly felt like he could forgive her for the baby's sake.noveldrama

Just then, Jessica asked, "Are you here because of the baby?"

"That's part of the reason. But I'm here mostly because of Zachary," Steven replied.

Suddenly, Jessica had a bad feeling. She asked, "What is it?"

Steven said, "Well, Zachary is my son after all. We used to be a happy family of three, but I made a mistake that took his mother away from him. Later, even I abandoned him.

"Recently, when I thought about it again, I felt guilty and wanted to make it up to

him. But I didn't know how to gain his forgiveness."

Then, Steven looked at Jessica and said, "You're a woman, so I thought I should ask you for ideas."

Jessica asked, "Do you want to buy him something?"

When he heard that, Steven shook his head and said, "He has a lot of money

now, so he probably wouldn't need any more from me."

Jessica was tired, but she didn't let it show in front of Steven. She continued to suggest, "If he doesn't need money, then he must need attention. Why don't you show up every day to show your care for him? My son loves that."
