The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret

Chapter 509 Ethan's Confession

Nathaniel and his team arrived at the Ravenwood estate around noon. The sun was blazing, and the vineyard was in the middle of harvest season, filling the air with a sweet fragrance.

Koen parked the car in front of the two-story house. Ethan was sitting on the steps of the porch, casually playing with a handgun.

He wore light blue jeans and a simple white shirt, giving him a clean appearance. His hair was a bit messy, and the collar of his shirt was slightly open, revealing his well-defined collarbones.

Ethan watched as Nathaniel slowly got out of the car. The house was surrounded by people, all with their guns trained on him. In this country, carrying firearms was much easier.

A slight smile played on Ethan's lips, warm and sweet, with a hint of a roguish charm.

"Hey there, Mr. Nathaniel," Ethan greeted.

Nathaniel stood before him, the breeze from the vineyard rustling his black coat, making him look even more imposing and cold.

"Where's Luna?" Nathaniel demanded.

Ethan chuckled. "Luna? Why do you want to know? She's out having fun."

Nathaniel's expression darkened.

Ethan's smile faded slightly. "I know what you want, Mr. Nathaniel."

"In fact, this has nothing to do with Luna. It was all me."

Nathaniel frowned deeply, and the others were taken aback.

Ethan pulled out a box from behind him, and the sound of guns being cocked echoed around them. He raised his hands. "Easy now; we're here to talk."

"This is a satellite phone. I used to contact Michael. The number you found on Michael's phone is mine."

"Nathaniel," Ethan said, his voice as cold as ice, "this whole thing has nothing to do with Luna. It was all me acting on her behalf."

"Nathaniel, you're always so arrogant, so self-important. Luna has loved you for so long, but you never cared, treating her like dirt."

"Do you even know what love is?"

"You're just a heartless work machine. I don't like you."

Nathaniel sneered. "Your opinions mean nothing to me. Where is Luna?"

Ethan was momentarily stunned before letting out a cold laugh.

"Nathaniel, I just wanted you to know what it's like to lose someone you love. I worked so hard to win Luna's heart, but with just one word from you, she abandoned everything to be with you."

"And even then, you rejected her! So, I decided to kill the woman you love to make you feel that same pain. It's terrible, isn't it?"

Nathaniel's frown deepened. He hadn't expected Ethan to go to such lengths for Luna.

He stared coldly at Ethan. "So, you're planning to take the fall for her?"

Ethan shrugged and smiled faintly. "It was always... my crime."

A frosty look passed over Nathaniel's face, his eyes full of contempt. "Do you think you can hide her?"

"Whether I can or can't, it's my concern!"

Nathaniel signaled, and a car door opened to reveal an elderly, white-haired priest, frail and haggard.

Seeing the old priest, Ethan slowly stood up, murmuring in disbelief, "Asgore?"

Asgore was an old servant from

their family. He had lived with

Ethan's family until his parents' car

accident, after which he left

Ravenwood, heartbroken, and

became a priest.

Now Nathaniel had brought him here, and Ethan's eyes flashed with anger as he charged at Nathaniel.

Click! Nathaniel pressed his gun against Asgore's head.

Ethan stopped in his tracks. Tears welled up in Asgore's eyes as he saw Ethan again, his lips trembling with words he couldn't find.

Nathaniel spoke slowly, "When dealing with Michael, it wasn't just Luna; this priest was involved too."

"Even Mason was initially held by Luna in a church, with vehicle switches and all sorts of tricks. This priest played his part well, but ultimately failed."noveldrama

"He never realized that by helping Luna conceal that secret, he was sending his own son to hell."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Ethan growled.

Nathaniel said slowly, "What? You didn't know this secret? Haha! Luna knew about it first and used you and your father to serve her purposes!"

Ethan's body trembled slightly. He had long harbored a suspicion he dared not voice, but now Nathaniel had exposed it.

His parents' car accident was not an accident but caused by someone. They had been on vacation, and an intense argument led to the steering wheel being lost, crashing into a cliff. Ethan had asked the old servant about what they argued

about, but Asgore had remained

silent. After dealing with his parents'

affairs, Asgore left Ravenwood.

Nathaniel looked at Ethan. "The man before you is your biological father. Luna

knew this, but you probably didn't, right?"

Ethan staggered backward, his face falling.

Asgore lowered his head, unable to

look at his son's face. He said

carefully, "I don't want you to take

the blame for something that's not

yours. It's my and Ms. Luna's

mistake, not yours."

"I know she should be hiding in the wine cellar. There's a secret room down there

where she can stay hidden for many days."

“Shut up! Just shut up!" Ethan growled in French.

Asgore sighed. "I kept evidence of her wrongdoing, hidden beneath the base of the altar in the church."

Nathaniel raised a hand, and Koen immediately turned and ordered people to head toward the wine cellar.

"Don't move! Don't move!!"

Ethan raised his gun.

Nathaniel stared coldly at him, his own gun still pressed against Asgore's head.

"Is it interesting?"

"Years ago, your father abused your mother. I heard your father was bisexual. Your mother was tortured terribly, and you weren't much better off?"

"If it weren't for this old man, you and your mother would have died countless times."

"Like a restless soul with no place to go, you chose to roam the world."

Ethan's face turned red, and his expression stiffened as he stared at Nathaniel, wishing he could devour him.

This man ruthlessly exposed his shameful past in front of everyone, destroying his dignity. Even if he wanted to be a crusader for love, he couldn't end well.
