The guard thought Barrett was insane. Matthew had hooked up with another woman. It was quite a big deal, yet Barrett remained unconvinced.

He lost the patience to explain. "If you don't believe me, forget it. In any case, Wealthwave Group doesn't have an employee named Matthew Grant. Leave immediately. Stop pestering us." Was this guard trying to kick him out?

Barrett gave Rachel a few more glances. He thought, "She was beautiful. If I were 70 or 80 years younger, nay, 20 years younger, as long as I could get it up, I'd try to woo her."

Regardless, he was old and weak. He could only admire beautiful women like her. Even if he managed to woo her, there was little he could do.

After feeling sorry for himself, Barrett composed himself and fixed his windswept hair. Haughtily, he said, "You don't deserve to know my name. Bring Matthew here."

Rachel was speechless. She had no idea where this old man was from, but he was quite arrogant.

Rachel had never been in this kind of situation. "You're being absurd. I told you he's at Gembrooke Building. Why don't you understand?"

At first, Barrett had the intention to go to Gembrooke Building, but he was tired of walking. He wanted to settle the matter right there.

He had lost so much after growing old. For instance, some foods were off-limits to him. And he could no longer have fun with beautiful women.

However, being old wasn't entirely useless, either. He could be unreasonable. That was the only benefit.

Unperturbed, he said, "I'm almost

Rachel gritted her teeth. She had never met anyone so unreasonable. Still, she looked at the old man. He was almost 100 years old. She had no choice but to take her phone out, find that familiar number, and call it.

Matthew had just exited City Hall when his phone rang.

When he realized the caller was Rachel, he was momentarily stunned, then swiftly accepted the call. "Rachel, did you miss me?" Rachel's heart clenched. She did miss him. Ever since they had broken up, he had been on her mind. He was her first man, after all.

In truth, she had agreed to Barrett and called Matthew because she wanted to see him as well.
