Chapter 356
When Dahlia heard the question, she looked visibly stunned, her eyes wide as she turned to Charles, her voice trembling with disbelief. "Charles..."
Wesley was caught off guard. He hadn't done anything wrong. Dahlia had always been so careful about everything. No photos, no records—she made sure he deleted their call logs each time they spoke. Even the phone cards they used were anonymous. There was no way to prove Dahlia had called him over. He used to think all this caution was just smart, a way to keep Charles in the dark. After all, Charles was unwittingly raising their daughter.
Dahlia always said she loved him, so Wesley never suspected her motives. But now, Charles was glaring at him, his expression growing colder by the second. Wesley could sense the shift; Charles was starting to doubt Dahlia because of him.
Without warning, Charles kicked Wesley, this time with more force. Wesley spat out blood, his heart aching as he looked at Dahlia, who watched him with a cold, indifferent stare. Did she really not care for him at all? Yet, when she was in his arms, she was so soft, her gaze tender and full of longing. Every time she whispered his name, it was with such intensity. Was it all just an act?
"Mr. Jenkins," Wesley pleaded, "I don't have any evidence that Dahlia called me today, but I swear, I'm not lying. Dahlia and I are truly together. Sandy is proof of our love."
He shakily pulled out the paternity test report that Evelyn had given him. It was his proof, showing he and Sandy were indeed father and daughter, something he held onto dearly. Wesley thought that confirming Sandy was his daughter would also confirm his relationship with Dahlia. But he didn't know that seven years ago, Dahlia's attempt to climb the social ladder had backfired, and Evelyn had ended up with Charles.
Dahlia had lied about being assaulted that night to make Charles feel guilty and justify the pregnancy she couldn't terminate. So Wesley's words only stirred more trouble.
Charles read, the report. Wesley and Sandy were indeed related. This revelation meant that seven years ago, the person who had assaulted Dahlia, the one who had shattered her innocence, was himself. He had hurt Dahlia once, and now here he was, threatening to do it again.
Seeing Charles remain silent after reading the results, Wesley thought if Charles no longer wanted Dahlia she would have no choice but to be with him. So he tried harder to convince Charles. "Mr. Jenkins, you've got everything-power, wealth. You can have any woman you want. Dahlia is already mine, and she's given me a daughter. Surely, you don't want someone with a tarnished past?"
At Wesley's insinuation, Charles's anger boiled over. He kicked Wesley hard in
the mouth, leaving him bleeding. Watching Charles defend her so fiercely, Dahlia seemed to relive her most painful memories.noveldrama

grabbed a vase from beside the sofa and hurled it at Wesley, screaming "Shut up, you monster! Just because you were infatuated with me doesn't give you the right to destroy me under the guise of love! To ignore my wishes and force yourself on me? And now you want to claim my Sandy?"
"Sandy doesn't have a father like you! She only has one father, and that's Charles."
"Charles, it was him who assaulted me seven years ago. And now he has the nerve to show up with a paternity test, trying to claim Sandy. I said no, wanted to call the cops, but seeing I was vulnerable, he tried to attack me again."
