The CEO's Mischievous Little Bride

Chapter 702 Molly Understands Sebastian

Vera noticed Susan's actions and was startled. Patrick quickly went over to catch the half-basket of cherries Susan had picked.

Randall, being tall, stood there and helped untangle the branch from Susan's dress. He then extended his hand, "Grab my hand, I'll help you down."

Susan hesitated, thinking about her weight. "No, Randall, you can't lift me."

"Just get down here, stop with the nonsense!" Randall shouted at Susan.

Susan looked at Randall, feeling a bit wrong. "Randall, I'm afraid I'll crush you, and then we'll both be hurt."

In the end, Susan didn't let Randall carry her. Instead, she held onto his hand and safely made her way down to the lowest branch. Just as she was about to jump, Randall didn't give her a chance to react. He swiftly wrapped his arm around her waist and lifted her down.

Susan's face turned red. "Randall."

"You're nineteen, not four. I can handle it!"

Susan blushed even more.

The tree Susan had picked clean looked as if it had never borne cherries, with only green leaves left.

Molly picked a few more cherries before Sebastian took her hand and helped her down.

Despite the same amount of time and effort, Vera and Molly together couldn't match Susan's speed.

Milo praised Susan, "You're a natural at cherry picking."

If he could afford to hire Susan, Milo would have been tempted. Someone who could fill half a basket in no time was exactly what they needed.

Before long, Susan spotted another tree. Remembering how Randall had worried earlier, she asked, "Randall, can I climb another tree?"

Randall glanced at Susan's dress and thought about their conversation last night. "Sure."

So, Susan climbed another tree. Teddy, the dog, grew more fond of Susan, barking excitedly as he watched her.

Seeing Vera eating cherries, Teddy tried to snatch one from her hand. Having had his fill of milk, he opened his mouth, wanting a cherry.

"You can't eat that." Teddy eventually cried in frustration. Vera carried him through the orchard to see the big cherries with the farmers.

"You're bringing such a young child out here?" one of the farmers said, offering Vera a chair.

Vera thanked him and sat down. "How many cherries have you grown?" she asked, striking up a conversation with the older women.

Teddy sat on her lap. "This is Milo's orchard. We're just here to help," Vera explained. The women admired Teddy, "Is he your son? He's so chubby and cute. What do you feed him?"

Teddy clung to Vera's thin sweater sleeve, indicating he was her child.

Vera smiled and hugged Teddy. "He's been drinking breast milk and formula."

As she chatted with the women, someone handed Teddy a cherry. Vera took it, split it, tasted one half, and let Teddy lick the other half to satisfy his curiosity.

Molly was busy wiping the sticky cherry juice from her hands. Sebastian joined Milo for

a chat. "The cherries look great this year. How's the harvest?"

Milo looked at his orchard and nodded with a smile. "Prices are high this year. We might make a few thousand dollars."

Sebastian was pleased for him. "That's great. Just be careful when collecting money. Be vigilant."

"Don't worry, Mr. Chase. I check every hundred-dollar bill carefully. Everyone at the distribution center knows you look out for me, so the scammers stay away."

Sebastian's professional instincts kicked in. "There are a lot of distributors and people. Remind the other farmers to be cautious too."

"Sebastian, do you have any wet wipes? My hands are sticky," Molly called out.

Sebastian realized he hadn't brought any. "How about washing with some bottled water?"

"Aunt Molly, I have some. They're in Randall's trunk," Susan called out from behind the leaves.

"Do you have a sun hat?"

"Yes, also in Randall's trunk."

Molly tried her luck, "How about gloves?"

"Yep, in Randall's trunk too."

Molly and Sebastian exchanged glances. "What's in Randall's trunk?"

"Ice sleeves?"

Randall tossed his car keys to Sebastian. "Go check. Her trunk is packed with everything. Mosquito spray, face masks, sun hats in three styles, you name it."

Molly returned, impressed with Susan. "Susan, from now on, if I go out, I don't need Sebastian. I need you." Susan was the kind of girl who packed everything in the trunk, just in case.

While others were there to enjoy the cherry orchard, Susan was focused on picking cherries. They looked like tourists; she looked like she was on a mission.

When they finished, everyone was amazed at Susan's haul. The Olteran family was speechless.

Milo was tempted to hire Susan. She was worth three people.

Susan grinned happily.

Randall wiped her hands with a wet wipe. Her white dress was dusty. "Why pick so many? Your face is sunburned."

"Randall, I want to make jam, wine, and canned cherries for you."

At noon, Milo warmly invited the family to lunch at his place. Sebastian declined, but when it came time to pay for the cherries, Milo refused. "You picked less than one percent of my trees. These cherries are for show and for us to eat. Mr. Chase, please don't pay. Without you, I would have lost a year's earnings."

Unable to refuse, Sebastian relented. But Molly, understanding her husband, quietly took his wallet and disappeared. She reappeared, saying, "Sebastian, let's go."noveldrama

Sebastian put his arm around Molly. "Thanks, Milo. We'll be off now."

Teddy had fallen asleep in Patrick's arms. He didn't mind being held, eating, or sleeping anywhere. But at Milo's house, the barking dogs woke him, and he cried in Patrick's

arms.

With Teddy crying, the family used him as an excuse to leave.

A few minutes after they drove off, Sebastian called Milo. "Milo, Molly left the money under the cutting board in your kitchen."
