She's the Campus Prince

My k 578

She was dressed like a guy," Xander pretested. "I swear, I had no idea she was a girl at first."

The two brothers had actually forgotten that Cameron was pretending to be a boy.

They had been so focused on the fact that she and Xander shared a dorm, they'd completely blanked on the context. Their protective instincts had just kicked in hard.

"Gavin, let go," Cameron said, coming over to pull him away.

Xander immediately ducked behind Cameron. "Cameron, your brother's way too scary."

Cameron had no words.

"Stay away from my sister," Gavin warned.

Xander thought, 'Stay away from her? How much farther can I get? There are only about four inches of distance between us.

Gavin narrowed his eyes. "Aside from being roommates, was there anything else going on between you two?"

"No," Cameron answered for Xander.

Both Gavin and Lance let out a sigh of relief. Their little sister had just come back into their lives. They'd lose it if some random guy started hitting on her

now.

Xander denied it. "There was."

Even Cameron didn't know where he was going with it, so she turned to look at Xander, wondering, 'What's he up to now?'

Meanwhile, Gavin's eyes widened.

"Oh yeah? Then tell us what it was?" Lance asked, rubbing his chin. There was a faint smile on his face, but it didn't reach his eyes.noveldrama

Gavin stared hard at Xander, but the latter was totally unfazed as he said, "I'm trying to win her over."

The two brothers were stunned to their cores. It turned out there was really something going on between Cameron and Xander, or so they thought.

They'd been worried Cameron would start dating once college started, but someone had already gotten a head start.

"No way!" Gavin said bossily.

Xander was confused. "Why?"

“Because Cam can't date anyone," Gavin explained.

But Xander retorted, "She's an adult now. Why can't she date anyone?"

"It's a family rule," Gavin said with zero hesitation. "No dating for her until she hits the legal age for marriage. Simple as that."

Xander stared at him, thinking, 'What kind of family rule is that? Or maybe Cameron's brothers just don't like me?

'No way, I look way too good today. So, I guess it really is just the family rule.'

Xander raised an eyebrow. "Two years, huh? I'll just get in line then."

Both Gavin and Lance were rendered speechless, thinking that Xander wasn't just bold and shameless, but he was impossible to deal with.

Cameron gave Xander a look. "You don't need to wait in line

Xander asked, "Why not?"

Just letting you know ahead of time that you've got no shot," she said.

Xander just stood there, completely stunned. After a long moment, he slowly lowered his head to hide the hurt in his eyes and walked away without saying a word.

The two brothers were stunned. They were just about to give Cameron a big thumbs-up for knowing how to shut someone out quickly,

But then, seeing Xander looking all hurt, they suddenly felt sorry for the guy.

But a second later, they reminded themselves that Xander was not the one they should pity here. He was trying to steal their precious sister away.

If anyone should be pitied, it was them, if their sister actually got snatched away. Gavin and Lance shot Xander's retreating figure a cold look, though,

on second thought, he did seem slightly pitiful.

"Let's go," Cameron said flatly. She wasn't one for dragging things out, and she had been so blunt with Xander because she didn't want him to waste his time on her.

It was better for her to clarify things so they could move on from this topic forever, for the betterment of both of them.

Gavin and Lance picked up her bags and followed after her. They'd barely made it a few steps before Xander came jogging back, clutching four neatly wrapped gift boxes for the Yates family.
