Chapter 784
Sean turned around, sticking his round little bottom toward Sebastian. He reached out and wrapped his arms around Brad's neck, burrowing into his embrace like a little, round ball.
His adorable gesture instantly melted the cold look on Brad's face. He lifted Sean slightly and continued to hold him with one arm, smiling warmly. "Maybe you should focus on yourself first, Mr. Caldwell. Sean doesn't like you!"
Earlier, when Sebastian mentioned that he might outlive him, Brad was itching to retort. He didn't want to lose ground. But that little move from Sean instantly calmed him down. Holding his tiny bundle of joy, Brad's eyes crinkled, treating Sean like his own son.
It was strange, but from the first moment he laid eyes on Sean, he couldn't bring himself to dislike the kid. Everyone always said he was distant and aloof, regarding others with a condescending gaze. Yet, with Sean, he felt an instinctive connection.
However, he wasn't one to smile much and preferred to maintain a serious demeanor, which made Sean cry as soon as he saw his stern face. Over time, he became hesitant to get too close to the little guy, mainly out of fear that it would make him cry.
Sebastian, annoyed that he couldn't get under Brad's skin, turned to Nadine, who was untangling the fishing line. "Come over here, Nad. I'll teach you how to fish. Trust me, I'm good at it. Mr. Hamilton Senior even praised me!"
Nadine glanced at Brad, who was holding her son, and smiled at him. "It's alright. I'll just figure it out on my own. Why don't you go ahead and do your own thing?"
She didn't dare say anything that might irritate that scumbag while Sean was in his arms. If he decided to take Sean away, she wouldn't know what to do with herself.
When Sebastian called out to Nadine, Brad looked in their direction. He shot her a warning look, making it clear that if she agreed to Sebastian, he would whisk Sean away and ensure she wouldn't. see her son all day and it worked Nadine turned Sebastian down.
Brad felt pleased with himself as he carried Sean over to where Nadine was sitting. He pulled over a small chair, settled next to her, and placed Sean on his lap.
From a distance, the three of them looked like a picture-perfect family out on a spring outing. The sight of Sean clinging to Brad only fueled Sebastian's Jealousy But he wasn' about to let Brad off that easily.
"Nad, there aren't any fish over there, so you should come to my spot. Look, I've got fish biting already!" Sebastian was determined not to let Brad have it easy. He was bent on making Brad suffer.
Nadine instinctively glanced at Brad out of the corner of her eye. At that moment, he was sitting just a hand's width away from her. Sean was on his lap, fiddling with the buttons on his shirt.
Sensing her gaze, Brad looked over at her. Right before their eyes met, she averted her gaze, pretending to admire the lake's view, not daring to look at him anymore.
He pursed his lips, a mischievousnoveldrama
