"Dustin, did you ask Governor Ramos to do this?" Patricia asked softly and smiled.

"You did great," she praised him.

Dustin smiled and nodded.

He had been annoyed by the Yeager family's machinations and ordered Zach to do this.

"Evan, Yvonne, do you understand now? If you dare to scheme against Patricia again, you will be punished severely!" the governor's assistant said to the couple.

"W-We wouldn't dare..." Evan and Yvonne were pale-faced. They did not dare say anything else.

"Inform the Yeager family of this news. Do remember to tell them that Governor Ramos has given the order and that the Yeager family should behave themselves!"

After chastising Evan and Yvonne, the assistant looked over at Nico.

"Nico, you knew that Miss Proud was being forced, yet you involved yourself in this mess. That is illegal. Are you aware of that?"

At this point, they could not worry about offending the Zamora family. They hurried to clear their names.

"Enough! This is not the place for all your denials the assistant shouted. "You are not allowed to interfere in Miss Proud's right to choose her own husband. It is an unforgivable crime. Now, I will take you to the governor, and he will determine your punishment!"

The men that the assistant had brought with him immediately stepped forward to arrest Nico.
