If it wasn't something serious, she wouldn't be storming off to punch Dan right now.

Xander: "Are you absolutely sure she wasn't on her meds at the time?"

Shawn: "She was so mad, dude. She went after Dan like a tornado, then even went after Aira. You think someone that pissed remembers to take her meds?"

She was charging around like a linebacker-either punching someone or on her way to punch someone. Who'd stop to pop a pill in that state?

Xander thought about it and had to agree.

He glanced over at Kyle. "Drive to Black Gate."

"What? Bro, you—"

"If we don't go now and she loses the baby, then what? You know how short-fused she is."

Just thinking about Yvonne's temper gave Xander a headache.

If she really is pregnant and went after Dan like that, her mood alone could send the baby packing.

Shawn: "..."

So what-does he want the kid to be born? Seriously, Yvonne doesn't seem like the type to just settle down and play house.

Yvonne landed at Black Gate, and before she even left the airport, her phone buzzed.

It was Xander.

Seeing his name pop up brought a pang of guilt.

Sure, their marriage was a transaction, but they were legally married all the same.

She'd never wanted to get hitched, but she wasn't the type to treat marriage like a joke either.

Every time she surfaced these past three weeks, it was just to go after Dan.

Xander: "Don't go. The baby's mine."

This made zero sense. Clearly, Xander was just as bad as her at jumping to wild conclusions.

He figured she was going after Dan because of a baby.

Her guilt vanished, replaced by pure annoyance.

Xander: "I said, the baby's mine."

The second Shawn heard "Death Valley," he silently cursed Yvonne: What a witch!

Only a real piece of work would come up with something like that.

Xander: "Sounds good to me."
